About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Live and let live, learn, have fun.

Short summary?
I was an au pair in Paris (2013-2014) who traveled a little around Europe, but now I live in Mexico!

I LOVE FOOD.
Enjoy learning about others, human contact keeps you human :)
I'm open minded, and would feel comfortable doing outdoorsy activities or grabbing a drink afteroffice!
I'm a veterinarian and I absolutely love animals.
Family, friends and my pets are the most valuable thing I have in the entire world.
My dog Darko (belgian malinois) has been my better half and my travelling buddy for 5 years now.

PHILOSOPHY
“I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Done a little couchsurfing around Europe since unfortunately I couldn't host in France and here in Mexico I don't live in the most touristic city, Hermosillo, Sonora (besides we just beat record on the hottest city in the world so... I don't think you're interested in a 50°C weather) but if you find yourself in this little town, feel free to contact me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, so good! amazing hosts everywhere I've been to.

Interests

Culture. Ecology. Food. Fun. Travel. Concerned and active. Values, respect and human rights. Working dogs. Live and let live. Open minded. Atheist. Talk, learn, discover. Veterinary Medicine.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movie: Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, Interestellar, Mother.
Books: Rayuela, everything poetry related specially Mario Benedetti, love Isabel Allende, Mafalda comics (recommendations taken!).
Music: lyrics for me are almost the most important part, Calle 13, Joaquín Sabina, Cultura profética, Mr. Kilombo, El Kanka, everything caribbean!
Of course for partying I can't deny my latin blood and would dance to almost anything.
I would give a chance to every genre as far as it would make me feel something, and I strongly believe that you should not criticize someone just because they like something you don't, if you don't like their music, don't listen to it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've done is volunteering. (I know this space usually is reserved for extreme adventures like parachuting or fighting crocodiles in the Amazon river).

My year in Europe has definitely changed my life, it's one of the best experiences I've ever had, so yeah, for me that was pretty amazing.

Right now my work is one of the most amazing things I get to do everyday.

Teach, Learn, Share

Not all mexicans are lazy, mariachis, travel in a "burro", use a "poncho", have a moustache, eat "fajitas" or "chilli". We're not all drug dealers, but Mexico is struggling with insecurities and problems; the main one is government's power abuse and corruption. Still, some of us are hard working people, just like many of you, looking forward to live a better life, see our country grow and fight for what is right.
Travelers, give Mexico a chance, I trully believe that one of the biggest risk you'll face staying in Mexico is loving its warm hearted people and its amazing food, just be careful like everywhere else in the world.
Yup, and don't forget the tequila!

Could teach you spanish, english, a little bit of french or something dog related hahah :)!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Feel free to crash our couch in the living room, or maybe we can fix you a room depending on the days you're visiting. I live with my mom, dad, brother, three dogs and three cats... so yeah, it's a bit crowded but if you don't mind we can share our home with you, I guarantee you'll find a lil mexican family here with us :)
I tend to be a VERY busy person but I'll try my best to show you around as much as I can and to make you feel like home.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Colombia, Croatia, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
