Surviving London
ABOUT ME
Born in London, but raised in the Vale of Nowhere, Obscuretershire, I got the itch and haven't been able to settle in one place for more than a year since. After studying art for a year in Leicester, I packed it in and moved to Paris for a few summer months, allowing me to meet some amazing people who got me into the couchsurfing thing. It also allowed me experience the delights of Starbucks trashcans. Now I'm studying English at Sheffield Uni. I've just completed my exchange year at McGill in Montreal and have toured the USA for a couple of months before returning.
PHILOSOPHY
Wherever you are right now is largely where you chose to be. Accept responsibility for yourself. Create your own flow and go with it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like the "goes around/comes around" thing. Seems to go well with the "life's rich tapestry" thing. People are interesting, so I like to have them around. Especially if they can cook. I like to really get to know a place from the point of view of the people who live there. Hostels are impersonal and boring. I want the real thing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't so much couch surfed as ended up on friends floors because I was out of options and they were awesome. But once I was back on my feet, I wanted to even the score a little, which meant me sharing my au-pair studio apartment with anyone who needed a place to sleep and pretending I was such a great person when I was really the one who had great people around all the time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
All the good stuff I haven't done yet.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can draw, but I don't know if I could really teach that. If you're looking for someone to sit around and draw with, I'm your girl. I could teach you some mean recipes and some rude jokes. I could tell you the difference between a villanelle and a sestina. I could reveal the secrets of rhyming slang and Mornington Crescent. I can teach you how to flush my toilet. Stuff like that.
