Overview
About Me
Hello!
My name is Abeeha, commonly known as Abs (but I don't have any). I love puns, as you can hopefully tell already. I am a business student with a double major in Marketing and Consulting. I enjoy reading, going to museums, chasing sunrise/sunsets, and pomegranates.
I grew up in Saudi Arabia but for the past 15 years, I've lived in Canada. I've been grateful enough to study abroad for one semester in Singapore, where I can safely say I was bit by the travel bug and now have a strong desire to see much more of the world and experience some of many God's master pieces.
I also eat salads and cereal all the time. Seriously. Or should I say cereially. I'll end my bad jokes here :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a student on a budget, accommodation costs can add up. I'd love to meet people from all over the world, I think it's amazing that someone can be thousands of miles away but sometimes people click in just one meeting.
I am currently travelling throughout Southeast Asia and Europe but once I am back in Canada, I'd love to pay it forward and show others the same level of hospitality and take them around my city, Toronto!
Interests
I enjoy photography, reading, blogging on Tumblr, biking, and I am trying to get more into jogging on a daily basis. I guess it really is time I live up to my nickname, Abs!

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a variety of music from artists such as Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Bruno Mars, etc. but I also love undercover YouTube music artists like Tyler Ward, Mike Tompkins, Alex G, Boyce Avenue, Us the Duo, and The Narrative.
In terms of movies, I am always a few years behind but one of my favourite movies is The Pursuit of Happiness.
I have way too many favourite books to list but my top 2 at the top of my head include: The Alchemist and A Tale of Two Cities.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've climbed to the top of a few stupas at the pagodas in Myanmar for an incredible view of both the sunrise and sunset, especially when I was in Bagan.
As you're reading this, I'll be trekking an active volcano called Mount Bromo in Surabaya, Indonesia!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English, Urdu (writing and speaking/calligraphy), and all that I have learned about photography online.
I'd like to learn different languages, how to cook cultural foods, and some hidden gems/non-touristy places in different parts of the world.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share some of my favourite key takeaways from the books I've read and my love for blogging my experiences on Tumblr. I can also share travelling tips for the countries I have visited and the ways to be a frugal traveller in terms of booking flights, tours, accommodations, what to pack, food options, etc.
