ABOUT ME

I have an MFA in creative writing from Naropa University, where I studied fiction.

My first collection of short stories came out recently - It Can Be That Way Still (Bedouin Books, 2008).

I'm also co-founder and prose editor of Zero Ducats, a literary journal comprised entirely of pilfered materials and dispersed for free.

I've spent most of my waking life in schools and universities, but the only worthwhile things I've learned have been through traveling and meeting new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couchsurfed in Berlin and Paris, including several weeks as a tumbleweed at the Shakespeare and Company bookstore.

Every year of my adult life I have traveled far more than the year previous. I've never had much money or material resources, so I've largely done this through couchsurfing with friends and friendly people...
