About Me

I'm originally from the largest city of Almaty in Kazakhstan located at the foot of Tian-Shan mountains and for the past 15 years living in the beautiful and welcoming Canada

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Looking forward to meeting new interesting people as travelers and hosts and to learn more about other cultures and individuals and to share my own cultural background and life experiences. It's interesting to meet like-minded people with similar interests and outlook at life, but also people of different worldviews and ways of life. I think it's a great way of enriching yourself and contribute to the world.

I registered way back in 2014, but only now remembered about this fascinating world of global couchsurfering and decided to give it a try. Quite excited!

Interests

Besides my professional interests in high tech, I enjoy history, genetics, woodworking, traveling, playing soccer (or European football), hiking and learning languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to classical and all kinds of ethnic music mostly. I enjoy movies not only from Hollywood, but from independent movie-makers and movies from different parts of the world, especially those that not only entertain but give you a valuable lesson about human nature and experiences. For books, these days I mostly read non-fiction, but back in the day when I was less about constant self-education, I would read mostly Russian, European, American classics and some more contemporary books.
