À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Wear through the bottoms of my Chacos

ABOUT ME

I just moved to Philly after a year in Asia and a month traveling through the US. I hope I don't freeze to death. If you're in the area on a Sunday and want a buddy to explore with, send me a message! I can't give you a ton of local insight, but I do know where to find food and I'm always ready for an adventure.

When I'm not studying or in the lab, chances are that I'm eating. I will eat pretty much anything. If I like it, I'll try to recreate it in my own kitchen. I also love taking photos but I live for the moments that make me put my camera away.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is a choice.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

If it's live music, I love it no matter what flavor it is. Lately I've been on a lot of Alice Russell, Quantic Soul Orchestra, Jill Scott, Ray Lamontagne, Talib Kweli, Madlib, N.A.S.A., Prince, Fleetwood Mac, Santigold, The Rapture, Flight Facilities, Amadou and Miriam, Chris Thile, Led Zeppelin and Madonna

I've been known to bury myself under a pile of Salman Rushdie, Jhumpa Lahiri, Milan Kundera, James Joyce, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Jorge Luis Borges, Vladimir Nabokov, Paolo Coelho, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Chuck Palahnuik, and Junot Diaz. I also get my fair share of non-fiction, mostly history and science stuff, and I like to get a daily dose of news.

Its been 5 years since I've lived in a house with a TV, so I'm almost completely pop culture illiterate. However, I do have a slight obsession with Studio Ghibli!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The most amazing thing I've ever seen? I once watched three wild dogs devour an entire impala in 10 minutes. That was pretty amazing, and a sight I never thought I'd see with my own eyes.

Also, swimming in a sea bioluminescent plankton is probably the most magical thing I've ever experienced.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I can make really awesome brownies from scratch. Teach me how to play the harmonica
