About Me
ABOUT ME
I am Canadian, but now live in Sydney, Australia. In Canada I worked as an Environmental Engineer, but in 2013 I moved to Sydney to study medicine. My boyfriend Richard and I have just completed medical school at the University of Sydney. To celebrate, we have decided to head down to Patagonia to hike the circuit trek in Torres del Paine!! I am looking forward to heading back to South America, as I spent several months there in 2008. At this time I was lucky enough to spend a year backpacking around South America, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
I absolutely love road trips, hiking, canoeing and any sort of adventure I can find. I love meeting new people, trying new food, going to markets and generally spending as much time as I can outside. I can't wait to get back into couchsurfing in Argentina and Chile!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
From couchsurfing on a sailboat in the Whitsunday Islands, to staying in the jungle in a treehouse to staying with an elephant tamer in Malaysia... learning about couch surfing has completely changed the way that I can travel. I have had some unbelievable experiences and have done some amazing things that I would not otherwise do because of it! I am so grateful to the couch surfing community, because it allows travellers to get to know a country the way the locals do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2009 my best friend and I, with no cycling experience whatsoever, decided to ride bikes around New Zealand. At this time we had no idea how steep those mountains would be, but we jumped on our bikes and headed straight into the Southern Alps with nothing but a tent and a road map. We slept in campgrounds and farmer's fields, met incredible people cycling the same amazing country we were, and had the experience of a lifetime. We still talk about our trip on a weekly basis - it was honestly the best thing I have ever had the opportunity to do!
