I'm civically involved in my town (especially my neighborhood -- Downtown) in both a booster & watchdog role and also as a transportation commissioner (http://www.cityofknoxville.org/boards/kta.asp) & Theatre Board Member (http://www.knoxbijou.com/board.htm). I'm also a member of Knox Heritage (http://www.knoxheritage.org) & City People (http://www.citypeople.org) and I help run our Downtown Farmers' Market (http://www.marketsquarefarmersmarket.org). I like discussion/debate, lively conversation, food, drink and having fun. I also ride my bike a bit and snowboard.

I let people sleep on my couch

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a member of several hospitality exchanges for the past 10 years or so. Many people have come to stay with me. Most of my couch surfing, however, has been with friends as I have friends that have moved all over the world and I spend most of my travel time visiting them.

I like good stories so any movie or book that contains a good story I'm all for it. As for music, I like most kinds of music.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In one day:

I was charged by an elephant on a trail near the Upper Zambezi River (I suspect he only charged me for a second ortwo but I ran, and kept on running; and did not look back 'til I was a good mile back down the trail.

Later, I was surrounded by a congress of baboons (they were just passing me by as I was walking down the road to Big Tree in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe but it was a big congress with one REALLY big male who sat down a few feet from me and stared me down while all of the other baboons passed...Then he got up and sauntered away)

Oh, and then I jumped off of the Victoria Falls Bridge (with a bungie cord attached ;~) which, at the time at least, was the highest legal bungie jump in the world....It was kind of an exciting day.
