ABOUT ME

I'm 22 years old and I am currently studying abroad in Rome, Italy right now. I love Italy and Europe in general! I like making new friends and learning about different cultures.

I am huge psychology buff. I wrote my senior honors thesis about self-compassion, body perfectionism, and eating disorders. It was tough, but a great experience.

I also love peer counseling :). I love talking and helping people in general, so this was the perfect job for me.

I bake and my specialties are red velvet cake, cherry cheesecake, and chocolate ganache cake!

Recently, I've gotten into cooking too and everyone back home says they really like my lasagna and chicken stroganoff.

I love traveling. I am studying abroad in Rome and have been for the past 3 months. There is only 1 month left in the program and I am really sad I'll have to leave this wonderful place. Traveling is my new passion and I think it's the best way to open your mind to how beautifully different others places and people are from what I am used to.

I also am a big fan of singing and, especially, a capella music. The voice is such an amazing instrument, capable of both lyrics and melody, and it's the best way to express yourself. I haven't sung in a while, but performing with my choir in high school was one of the best experiences of my life.

I enjoy socializing and making new friends! I can talk with others for hours on end.

I also love watching musicals. Everyone who performs is incredibly talented with the ability to sing, act, AND dance. That, in itself, boggles my mind.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't CouchSurfed a lot because I haven't been in Europe for very long, but the one CouchSurfing experience I had was great! I think it's such a good idea to open your home and hospitality to travelers who can get the local feel from their host. It's definitely a great way to become more involved in the city you are traveling in, rather than look from the outside as a tourist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran a half-marathon in San Francisco and it was such an exhilirating experience. Running 13.1 miles throughout the hills of San Francisco offered incredible views and a feeling of liberation. Definitely an empowering experience.
