I am the founder of Democracy Now! en Español, www.democracynow.org/es where I worked for nearly a dozen years. I am now working on some writing projects, including a novel as well as an Anthology about the life of an indigenous environmental activist in Honduras who gave her life defending the rights of the earth and her people. I moved in 2020 to San Lucas Tolimán, near Lake Atitlán in Guatemala and hope to host at the Casa Qatzij guest house if you come visit this volcanic paradise.

I very much look forward to meeting new people and create memories. The writer Thomas Merton once wrote, "It is the reality of personal relationships that saves everything." Given the crises on our planet, building new friendships is an important part of bringing much needed healing. In recent years I've travelled in the Americas and in Europe meeting folks and working on the "story writing me!"

Worked for the awesome poet activist, Alice Walker as well as with Democracy Now's Amy Goodman where I established a network of over 500 radio Spanish-speaking stations around the world airing independent grassroots global media. I am co-producer of the documentary film Hidden in Plain Sight about U.S. Policy in Latin America and the School of the Americas.

Trabajé con la activista/poeta/escritora, Alice Walker y también con Amy Goodman, de Democracy Now, donde establecí una red de más de 500 estaciones de radio de habla hispana en todo el mundo que transmiten noticias independientes. Soy coproductor del documental Secreto a Voces sobre la política de los Estados Unidos en América Latina y la Escuela de las Américas.

One of my passions is leading international delegations, sometimes called reality tours, in which participants learn about other countries, especially Latin America, and come back to the U.S. to work and change foreign policy. The teaching, learning and sharing that takes place on these trips deeply impacts the lives of all involved.
