ABOUT ME
I'm starting my second year of my graduate degree at UMass Boston in English Literature. Hoping to crank out a teaching license at the same time. I'm a full-time nanny, and after one year, I'm still exploring my amazing city of Boston.
PHILOSOPHY
Oh, for Chrissakes, just try it! I don't feel I have enough time in my life for jealousy, worry, or regret. I want to live a happy life, help others as much as I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosting! And I want to go to a meeting, but my schedule is nuts. I'm going to try harder.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
At first, I thought I was just lucky, because every single host we've had so far has been perfect, interesting, and respectful. But now I think it's just the CS way. It's shaped our trip into something memorable and worthwhile.
Interests
Obviously, I'm a dork about the written word. Modern literature really gets me going, particularly the kind that promotes positive social change. I'm also very interested in educational theory. Other interests are: office supplies, hard candy, camping equipment (but not camping), politics, movies with bad endings, sports equipment (but not sports), dogs, turtles, presidents, glass blowing, cigarettes (but not smoking), precious stones, anthropology, classic cars, and staple guns. That about covers it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Mary Gordon short stories, Sarah Vowell, and Dave Eggers.
I could talk about movies and music for hours, so it's best if I don't get started, but I love blues, southern folk, dirty low-fi rock, and british art rock.
As far as movies go, I like bad chainsaw movies and good documentaries.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have so many things to choose from now! Passing through the Andes, floating islands in Peru, Carnival in Rio...just trying to process it all, really.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a huge list of things I want to learn how to do! This list includes: scuba dive, make candy, speak Spanish, welding!, and how to make my own paper. Oh yeah, and fix cars, memorize the presidents in order, learn the capitals of every country, make one really impressive, complicated dinner entre, take fancy pictures, volunteer at an animal shelter, finally learn to like camping. There's more. I try to write them down.
