ABOUT ME

My name is Amy. I'm always a little stumped by trying to translate myself into words on a screen but here goes! I'm usually a lively, outgoing woman, but I also have the tendency to be a bit of a stubbornly independent loner and to take off or move without much notice.
I am a positive person and usually have a smile on my face! I am a good time always looking for a better time. I love spontaneous adventures and staying up all night.

I love music. I've always got a tune on my lips. The song I have had on repeat this week is "The Maritimes" by Classified

I live downtown and love city living. I love all the lights and activity and people. I love to people watch. We're an interesting breed, us humans. The only place I love more than the city is the middle of nowhere in the wilderness. I think I feel most like myself when I am in the woods. Its one of my goals to explore the physical as well as cultural and political landscapes of the places i visit.

I like to think of myself as adventurous, but I am also constantly grappling with my fears and work hard not to be paralyzed by them.

I am not sure if this is an accurate description. I am always discovering new things about myself as I travel and grow.

PHILOSOPHY

Remember that you are intrinsically lucky just because you are alive so go out there and give life a run for its money!

Someone once told me to live with a child's enthusiasm and reckless energy and I think its good advice. Life is like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride but with higher highs and lower lows. I haven't figured it all out yet, but I just keep reminding myself how lucky I am to be alive and that experiencing the lows as well as the highs is all part of the journey.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have just met one person. We went out for a night of tequila and he crashed on my couch. In the morning we went to the market and bought apples for breakfast. It was a great experience.

I plan to host as many surfers as I can and I want to surf my way across Canada eventually!
