Cycling around the world

ABOUT ME

Spending 4 years cycling around the world, across Europe, Asia, Australia, down North and South America, and back up through Africa to the UK - see my website www.acrosscontinents.org. Started September 2009 from UK, comfortably on track to complete Europe by December 2009 when I reach Istanbul. Aim is to raise at least £1 for every mile cycled for the UK Outward Bound Trust, a charity that works with young people to help them learn about themselves.

PHILOSOPHY

Always endeavouring to do what I say I'll do - keeping my promises. And treating people with respect and compassion.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing for now, but have a very comfortable couch back in UK - 200 year old traditional English cottage - available when I return. Oh, and I can cook!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Novice! But am fully house trained, can cook and always tidy up after myself.

Parachuting - because you go from stomach churning fear as you prepare to exit the aircraft, and then seconds later, suspended below your canopy, to a state of absolute calmness!

Delighted to share what I've learned about the various countries I've passed through. And then there's the practical stuff - I qualified in the UK as a bicycle mechanic specifically for this expedition.
