About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Andábamos sin buscarnos pero sabiendo que andábamos para encontrarnos. - Julio Cortázar
ABOUT ME
Fun, open to trying new things, loyal, cultured, goofy, and creative. I get along with almost any one but have better connections with those who are interested in culture and the world.
PHILOSOPHY
The Point of Travelling
(As found on a hostel wall in Barcelona)
"Traveling, if I was to put a label on it, it's (like life) a schizophrenic chameleon. It's a party, it's an escapist, it's lonely as hell, and it's beautiful."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have gone to a local event or two and have never hosted a CouchSurfer officially but I have unofficially couch surfed and hosted couch surfers with all my international friends for years. I have also helped entertain CouchSurfers that my friends have hosted.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My unofficial CouchSurfing experiences have been numerous and wonderful. I stayed with some friends from college and their families in Brazil which was amazing. Such hospitable and wonderful people. I have backpacked and Europe and stayed with a friends in Germany, Amsterdam, and England. Not to mention couchsurfing within the US and studying abroad.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have para-glided in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I was at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Being at the Vatican on Christmas Eve.
And many more and one that hasn't happened yet but will in July that I am sure is going to leave me awestruck...seeing Radiohead in concert in Bilbao, Spain! Woo hoo!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a Spanish teacher. If you want to know something about the Spanish language, culture, history, etc., I probably can tell you or guide you in the right direction.
I would like to learn Portuguese. Right now I speak a shaky version of Portuñol.
My biggest piece of advice to those traveling, go it alone. The best version of yourself is your traveling self. It is the rawest version of yourself and you get to see who you really are, the positives and the negatives. Plus the experiences you gain and the people you meet are so much more appreciated when they are your own and not tainted by someone else's experience or view.
