About Me

Hey! I'm from Cape Town where everything is beautiful except the poverty and inequality. I'm a development economist specialising in education and labour market research.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and explore but I often end up travelling alone for work so hopefully this is a nice way to meet some people who will want to go on adventures with me :) And by adventures I mean anything from outdoor nature-y things to dancing till 4am or just a stroll down a new street.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of different music. Most genres have something good to offer. Live music is great. Dancing is great. Same with books and movies - it's less about the genre and more about the way its written. But I guess, to be more specific, some of my favorite music artists are Nicolas Jaar, Chet Faker, Christine and the Queens, Lana Del Ray, and a local South African band called Lo-ghost. That is a very in-exhaustive list. My favorite movies/series are funny movies with serious underlying themes (DramCom? Dramady?) like BoJack Horseman and Please Like Me. But I also loved Mad Max and I like some weird stuff like Hoarders. Reading is life, I love Harry Potter and some of the fanfic spinoffs. I mostly read fiction (too many good books to list) and I also love cartoons - Calvin and Hobbes is no.1.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee Jumping from the highest natural bungee point in the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

In-depth knowledge of the South African economy, education system, and social dynamics. Good advice on what to do and see if you're ever in Cape Town. That's pretty much it. If that doesn't interest you then maybe good energy and a will to try the best ice cream in town will suffice.

Countries I’ve Visited

Botswana, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Jordan, Mozambique, Netherlands, Palestine, Swaziland, Thailand, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
