About Me

I'm a South Florida native that loves to travel and meet new people.

I come from a big family and my mom is my best friend. My friends are pretty awesome people with good taste and I get most of my music and movies through their recommendations. Although I love to travel, I can be a bit of a home body.

I can talk about anything until I'm blue in the face because even if I do not know about the topic, I'm not shy about asking questions. Being from South Florida meant that I was around many different cultures and I am open to all walks of life.

To each their own, live and let live.

My first car was a mustang that I crashed and now I drive my Honda Accord like a grandpa. No rush, and I like it that way.

I'm a pretty independent person and I have no problem spending time on my own with a good book or on a hike somewhere. I've tried to get into yoga and meditation but I'd rather run and go rock-climbing.

Every now and then I'll write a short story or journal my days but I find that there is so much to do in life, you might as well dive into the present moment.

I'm not the healthiest guy around but I stay away from fast food and I do my best to eat my veggies. I used to work for vitamix (a blender company) so I learned how to make some dam good smoothies. At another job, I once clocked a 20 hour work day and I've spent many days on the road for jobs in general.

It's happened on several occasions where I realize that I am driving on a road I had been on years before.

I'm an amateur at many things because my interests run wide and I don't mind learning a new craft. My philosophy is that if you put 10-20 years into something, you are bound to be decent at it. So, while I'm not an expert at anything just yet, I'll be really knowledgeable in a lot of trades when I'm 40.

I'm talkative, relaxed, and very outgoing. That's according to my oldest friend Michael who told me about couch surfing and is currently traveling across the country for an undetermined amount of time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am currently driving across the country from my hometown in South Florida to move to Boulder, Colorado. I'm taking advantage of the trip to visit cities along the way and meet new people while I am there.

It's the first time I have moved away from home. It makes me a little nervous to move away from everything I know but I'm excited for all the new experiences that will inevitably come. Plus, it's hard for me to turn down a good adventure.

I like to travel as much as I can and couchsurfing seems like a great tool for taking trips and meeting locals. Several friends that travel a lot recommended the sight and told me about great experiences they had when using it.

Interests

I read quite a bit. I used to play sports often but now I mainly hike, kayak, or go for a swim. I'm still pretty good on the basketball courts though! Just saying.

Talking is probably my favorite past time. We can discuss anything from tv shows to the beginning of the Universe.

I write when I remember to do so.

Last but not least, I'm a bit of a craftsman. I'm good with my hands and power tools so I'm that guy that friends call when they need help with a project around the house.

I follow most HBO shows and a few Netflix series. Other than that, I do not watch much TV.

I like researching new topics and hanging out at bars with live music. I love dogs and all animals really so if you have pets, that's awesome.

Movies: All kinds. All languages. Top 5 that come to mind are: The Matrix Series, City of God, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Iron Giant, & Inglorious Bastards

Books: Right now I'm reading Dune. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series is near and dear to my heart. The works of Alexandre Dumas, especially The Count of Monte Cristo. I also read a lot of non-fiction informational books, mainly on business or maintaining a healthy life-style. Magazines: Time, Wired, Popular Science, Bloomberg Businessweek

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw every state East of the Mississippi in 12 months while driving around a giant Peanut shaped vehicle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've studied martial arts most of my life and while I am not currently active, I have a wealth of knowledge to offer on "The Martial Way of Living" and the teachings of Bruce Lee's "Jeet Kun Do".

I studied International Business and am always willing to impart my learnings as well as to intake knowledge on the subject. I'm primarily interested in disruptive technology such as renewable resources, automating technology, and the share economy.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Great conversation and good tips on the best places to visit in South Florida.

I also make amazing shakes and I travel with my Vitamix. The best blender in the industry if you ask me =)

I can offer company on any activity and also help around the house if a craftsman is needed. I'm not certified handyman but I've been around power tools my entire life and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, Dominican Republic, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

Mexico, United States
