About Me

Europe-bound throughout April, let me know if you’d like to meet for a couch offer or coffee chat in:
-Paris 18/4 - 22/4
-Berlin 22/4 -26/4
-London 26/4-30/4
-Dublin 30/4 -3/5

I work in the service industry so that I can have a lot of free time to work on social movements around anti-racism and justice for the unsheltered. My current focus is on organizing around definancialized models of housing to increase affordability and livability in cities.

People tell me I'm outgoing and outspoken. I'd say that's mostly the result of pushing myself in the opposite direction of some overly-introspective tendencies, but I'd like to think I'm cultivating that balance. Learning and eating my way toward an understanding of culture are my favourite travelling experiences, and I'm happy to share these with other people who visit my home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I firmly believe that the best way to learn about any city, culture or world is through the experience of sharing. I sometimes feel thoroughly honoured by the generosity of those that take the time and effort to show and explain how they see and experience the world. Staying with hosts allows for an interesting, individual perspective on the city, and a bit of companionship to boot.

My main interest in travelling is to question the way I do and see things by seeing how other people and places do it differently.

Free accommodation and a free travel guide are obviously perks, but it's really about meeting people and spending time with them, so I try to look for hosts that will be available to hang out.

Interests

Biking is my passion and way of life.

I also enjoy a good sit-down discussion on something you're passionate about. On my end, I'm happy to share about my everyday life experiences or on philosophical topics (especially epistemology and language theory!). Love love love board games and billiards if you want something a bit more playful.

Show me a new place, book, restaurant, etc. and I'll love you forever!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love the subtle differences you find in each place. Everyone gets by but some things you think are SO IMPORTANT just aren't a big deal in other places. I can teach you a little about Canada if you're interested, or some Improv theatre techniques (or Shakespearean acting, if that's your thing), bike repair, or philosophy.

ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN HOSTING GERMAN- OR SPANISH-SPEAKING TRAVELLERS!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will help with anything around the house. I'm pre-emptively appreciative of your generosity in hosting a weary traveller. If you're not working or at school, I'd love to explore the town with you, whatever town it may be, or just hang out and have a good conversation.
