About Me

My name is Adam. I grew up in London, Tokyo and Montana. I went to college at Brown in the US and then did my MA in sociology in Japan. I work on organic farms in the South of France in between schools.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm hitchhiking the US. My mum is American, but I never really saw or felt much of the US outside of college (which, although awesome, didn't feel like a genuine 'America'.) After finishing my MA in Japan in HIV prevention in South-east Asia, I traveled half a year and arrived at the East Coast. From abroad, I always get only the negative of the US, so I decided that after reading some Kerouac, hitchhiking across would be the best way to get re-acquainted after 7 years in Japan.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked Morocco for a few months through the dessert and hiked between oases. It was awesome - and hot.

I did 10 days silent meditation in Nepal where I couldn't move, but was covered in fleabites I couldn't scratch.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am happy to share any of the languages, experience, and things I've learned along the way if anyone would be interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, enjoy good company and am up for most anything.
