About Me

Hey everyone!

My name's Adam and I'm college student at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. I was born and raised in a small, suburban town in south central Pennsylvania and then moved to Philly at age 18 to study entrepreneurship. I used to play a solid amount of soccer growing up and founded my own landscaping business at age 12.

I've been fortunate enough to have traveled a good bit already. Some places I've been are: Ireland, Wyoming, South Africa, California, Mexico, Canada (Churchill and Montréal), Bermuda, The [U.S.] East Coast, West Virginia, Nevada, Arizona, Italy, Utah, Guatemala, Tennessee, and Kentucky.

Most would call me a minimalist– I'm not picky at all. A floor to sleep on, a shower, and a sink is about all I need to be satisfied. Also, I'm open to a lot of things, so any experience I'm most likely open to.

A few of interests of mine are: exploring, longboarding, the outdoors (primarily thrill-seeking activities like cliff jumping), the environment, entrepreneurship, plant-based alternatives, reading (biographies and self-development books mainly), podcasts, movies (favorite is American Beauty), photography (instagram: awj_21), and introspection.

When traveling, I love to explore the landscape of areas and travel around via longboard, bike, or foot. Not too big on the main tourist attraction or the area history.

Also, I'm plant-based (vegan).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Not only am I looking to expand my horizon in terms of destination I've ventured to, but saliently I'd like to travel in a different manner. I recently read the book "Vagabonding" and it pretty much summarizes the type of traveling I'd like to do going forward: extremely immersive, explorative, lean, cultural traveling on a budget.
