About Me

Hello,

My name is Adam and I'm a relaxed, easy-going guy from New Zealand. I have been living in Spain for the last 7 months and am now heading out on my summer holidays.

I love music (both making and listening), good food and wine, travelling and meeting interesting people from around the world. I work as an english teacher but have worked in restaurants and hostels before too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couch-surfing is a great way to get around the world meeting awesome people and getting a locals touch to each place you visit. I have lived with people before who have invited couch-surfers into our home and it has always been a cool experience.

I have a long break from work this summer and am looking to make the most of it. Hopefully, couch-surfing can help!

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music - lots of the good old classics from the 60s-90s but also recent/contemporary stuff like Radiohead, Arcade Fire, UMO and Kurt Vile. Too many bands to list.

Books - Something intense and gripping like something by George Orwell or Aldous Huxley. At the moment though I'm seeing how I go with reading in Spanish.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once joined a pilgrim trail and climbed one of Sri Lanka's highest peaks, Sri Pada. The way to completion is to leave at 2am and walk through the night in order to see the dawn as it spreads from east and lights up Sri Lanka in all directions before you.

A truly magical and breath-taking experience!

More recently, however, I've been making wine in the South of France and getting myself accustomed with the beautiful culture and language of Spain. It's been a wild ride!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, whatever it is that I can do, learn or share, I'm happy to spread the good word and pass it on.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook well and am always keen to have a conversation. I'm also a singer and I play the guitar so I love to jam and make music!

Countries I’ve Visited

Germany, India, Portugal, Spain, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
