About Me

I love learning and meeting new people. As a philosophy major, I wanted to study all majors as all college majors study the same thing, existence. I dropped out of university and took a temporary vow of poverty to try and discover the nature of happiness among other things.(in my opinion, true happiness is derived from loving other more than yourself and friends, family, new experiences, and love are more important than material possessions. I hitch hiked and snuck on freight trains through the main 48 states in the U.S. then saved to go to Hawaii and Alaska. I am currently in Glasgow on my way to Edinburgh and intend on visiting as many countries as possible, sharing the underground culture in America while learning from new cultures in Europe(cultural exchange-art, music, ideas, etc.) I'm easy going, I have many amazing stories from my travels(especially riding freight trains and protests) and would love to share them while I learn about other cultures and ideas. Let's work for a better world together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and exploring new ideas, and would much rather help a like minded individual than give money to large hotel chains(I'd rather sleep outside than give the Hilton's a penny for instance). As I generally avoid the vanity of overspending and love the freedom of not being tied down with dead end jobs, couch surfing is perfect for me. I can offer things more valuable than money, friendship, new ideas you may not have been introduced to yet and unforgettable stories of my adventures thus far(traveling back and forth across a continent the way I did makes for some entertaining conversations).

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Grapes of Wrath, 1984, Brave New World, Metamorphosis, Siddhartha, many others and Philosophy of course.
Music: The underground music of American nomads(its not on record labels, and to me represent true art that has not been corrupted by money.
Movies: A Clockwork Orange, They Live, The Matrix, Requiem for a Dream, The seventh seal, Metropolis, a plethora of foreign films/indies. Anything that makes you reflect on life after watching.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled all fifty without any income, and usually no phone via hitch hiking and train hopping.(excluding Hawaii and Alaska of course, can take a train to Hawaii, lol)

Teach, Learn, Share

Philosophy, the culture of almost every major American city, the wisdom that comes with adventure
