Born and raised in Traverse City Michigan. I love my home town more than anywhere I have traveled. I have lived and worked in Minneapolis (Target Corp), Seattle (Amazon) and London (Amazon). During my 2.5 years in London I definitely caught the travel bug, visiting around 20 countries (with many repeats) while I was there. I am an outgoing person that loves to be with friends/others to play sport, travel or share a cheeky pint.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I see Couchsurfing as a chance to meet new and interesting people. Historically I have used AirBnb for most of my travels. I recently left my corporate job to pursue more entrepreneurial/creative endeavors. Couchsurfing not only supports my new budget but also provides me a chance to discuss ideas with new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books - I don't read nearly enough, I am working on this. Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography and The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon are 2 great books that I have read recently. Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos are revolutionary thinkers and business leaders that have shaped much of the world that we live in, for better or for worse. Having worked at Amazon for 4.5 years I find Brad Stone's take very interesting for both is accuracy and inaccuracy.

Music - Has never been a big part of my life. I listen to more podcasts than music. Enjoy pretty much everything (not much country though). Motown is amazing. soft spot for Disney classics and musicals.

Movies - Give me a stupid comedy and I am happy. Anything Leo does is great, The Departed is a favorite. Horror movies and zombies movies are my jam.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I left my rather high paying job at Amazon, which allowed me to live and work in London, without a definitive plan in order to pursue more fulfilling unknown opportunities. I just couldn't stand to be part of the corporate beast any longer. I now live out of a couple of bags and am figuring out what to do next.
