Aside from traveling in Europe when I was 17, I haven't done much outside of the United States. I've lived in Prescott, a small town of about 40,000 people for the majority of my life. It's there that I got my inspiration for the outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, camping, and appreciating the outdoors. I've recently adopted the philosophy to live while I'm still young and see the world before I settle down. Because of my change in philosophy I took a semester off of University and am now traveling New Zealand for a month. After traveling around for 2 months I'll be going back to Engineering to finish my bachelor's. Yuck. Then 4 more years of intense education so I have to live life and mix things up a bit!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Initially created the account to search for places to stay as I biked across New Zealand (Dunedin->Tauranga). I wimped out and decided to drive :( Gonna drive the South Island now until the 12th, then fly to Auckland and bike the North Island. Since this is my first experience with Couchsurfing I'm sad to say that I'm unable to reciprocate the favor and host anyone... Yet!
Once I get back to the United States I'll certainly return the favor; I'm now aware how hard it is to find cheap housing while traveling, and how amazing it is to have a couch or floor even.

Interests

Previous competitive swimmer, current collegiate triathlete, I'll do anything outdoors as long as I have the needed equipment and twice my body weight in food. Honestly I find everything fun and I'm always looking for new and more amazing things to do. Music is also a big part of my life (I've been touring with a band lately around Ca, Az), and my most recent interest is in politics, as I've gotten involved in the Bernie Sanders campaign, launching a political website and social media page.

But mostly food. Food and sleep are 90% of my interests
