About Me
Hello!
I am Adam, a humble Canadian who loves music, arts, and conversation. In my free time, I enjoy asking questions and dancing.
During May and June of 2019, I will be studying Czech culture and language in Prague with the Humanities department of Simon Fraser University. Afterwards, I plan to travel to Berlin, Amsterdam, London and Bristol.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travelling allows me to experience my interests in unfamiliar environments and with unfamiliar people. Does that mean it expands my mind (what even is 'a mind')? Or makes me more empathetic? Who knows, but I like to think it does.
Couchsurfing is a more personal, direct and inexpensive way to do this. Occupying an attitude of thanks and humility can easily facilitate learning. It's a mind-set that keeps me attentive. When someone opens up their home to me free-of-charge, I can't help but be gratefully humbled, and from this, I imagine, I will learn more about my surroundings.
I haven't started hosting yet due to my living with many roommates, but I'm working on that. Sharing what I know about a place appeals to me nearly as much as learning about a place.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've enjoyed many different genres of music. From Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Schubert's string quartets, to early 2000's pop, Relient K's Pop Punk, Kyuss' melodic hard rock, Sleeping With Sirens' post-hardcore, and now largely a huge whirlpool of electronic music sub genres (The house sounds of Chaos in the CBD, Perfume Advert and Blawan, the deep dubstep of Samba and Commodo, and etc
Music is a big part of my life, to say the least.
I study the literary arts, so I'm constantly reading fiction and literary theory. Some of my favourite authors are Kundera, Safon-Foer, and Camus. I recently finished a "Critical Thinking on Violence" class in which I closely read Fanon, Deleuze, and Žižek.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe that the 'key' to happiness is acceptance.
