About Me

I'm 23 years old- originally from Nottingham and currently living in London training as an architect. I am about to tour the east coast before I start my Masters degree in September at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow, Scotland.

My first stop in the U.S is in Detroit where I will be spending 3 weeks renovating a neglected 1920's house with a great bunch of volunteers, helping out in city that's undergoing a exciting and complex revival!

I am interested in how architects can work closely with communities to utilise under invested sites within the city to build great public space and help find sustainable solutions to national housing demand. I also love to travel (like most people here on CS), meet new people and exchange cultures! I'm a fan of many genres of music and different artists. Right now i'm listening to a lot of Hip-hop, Jazz and Post-Classical Music. Coltrane, Wu-Tang, Max Richter etc...Into anything, especially live/new and original.

For the past 4 years I worked with Oxfam, volunteering at Glastonbury, Bestival and tramlines festivals. I also went on a tour the black forest in south Germany with my old school friends where I played piano and sung in a barbershop quartet for locals at a series of free gigs in the area. My first job was playing piano in a cantonese restaurant every Friday night....

I'm very easy going, always up for an adventure! Love cycling/hiking/exploring the country as well as the city. If you have a hobby, i'll completely throw myself into it and take part. That being said, I'm more than happy to kick back with a beer and chill out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

**CULTURAL EXCHANGE!**

I'm obsessed with urbanism, cities and understanding the people that make those cities- I hope that couch surfing and spending time with hosts will be a great way to explore this. I genuinely look forward to spending time with my hosts as I hope that I can bring some quality British humour & sarcasm to the table.

I hope that my hosts will want to one day come visit me in the UK, If you are ever in Nottingham, Sheffield, London, Glasgow- give me a shout..!
