About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Adjusting back to Ale after two years of Pils.

ABOUT ME

Good sense of humour. Mildly eccentric. Smart. Compassionate, caring. Principled. Adventurous.

PHILOSOPHY

Relax and enjoy. Spend as much time as possible outdoors/in Paris. Preemptive nostalgia for all the great books I will never read and the great people never met.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just signed up after meeting some ultra-couchsurfers, lets see what happens...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wonderful so far - three great hosts in Trieste, Verona, and Pisa. Can't wait to meet more and do some hosting in the future...

Interests

Exploration of all kinds drives me. The combination of a good book to read and a new and interesting place to explore is a winner. I love to engage in different cultures and meet the weird and wacky people that live on this planet. Music is always with me and art in general. I like to write and engage in long elaborately drawn out devil's advocate conversations. I'm pretty active, spend lots of times in the mountains, also as part of my job. Well told stories over slow lunches, preferably in coastal towns. Being lost, especially in interesting backstreets of random towns.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books, Music, Movies in that order for a start. Open minded - anything goes as long as it catches me in some way. The work of W.G. Sebald stands out. Schubert songs, in particular Litanei sung by Gerard Souzay. The Big Lebowski/world cinema/short films/Moonwalker obviously.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Above all the hospitality and kindness of others which you tend to witness on a daily basis when traveling and which on a few occasions left me speechless.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach english and earth science. I play the guitar (want to learn flamenco), tabla drums, and am starting on the piano.

Interested in learning anything.
