About Me

Hello there!
My name is Adam and I am from Vilnius, Lithuania. I was born there but I grew up in Lisbon, Portugal. I am very open-minded and like to meet new people from any place of the world. Everybody has something interesting to say and meeting new cultures and different things makes me think bigger and better, makes me open my mind about what is out there to be discovered. I like adventures and challenges.
"If you can dream it, you can do it!", that's my philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on CS mostly to surf the world, meeting new people and new cultures.
But let's be honest, it's aswell for the "couch".
I am trying CS because I wanted and want to go to some places that I just could not, because of the huuuge prices. That is dream-destroying for me, as I want to discover the world and meet locals of the places I go.

I give back what I receive, so for me it's more than just a place to crash. It's about helping in any way I can someone that helped me. I just don't host now because I live in a rented room and my room mates don't like the idea. I want to host in the future, when I am able to do so and meet new people!
If you ever come to Lisbon just tell me. I can show you around!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all types of music. House, reggae, pop, techno, etc. It just has to be good. I am open minded so I like to try new styles of music. Maybe "Hall of fame", from WillIAm, is my favorite one, it inspires me so much!

"Gladiator", might be my first choice if I was to pick a movie. It's a classic, it's epic. It has all in it: action, drama, romance, history.
I don't watch much TV, bit when I do I put on NG or Discovery, I will always learn something new, especially about travelling!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 16, I was on holidays in Vienna, Austria. And I decided to do a bike trip. So I went, ALONE, to discover Slovakia.
Just me, my bike and a backpack with some food and water, nothing else. I had studied the path to take the days before as I didn't have internet so I could use GPS on my phone to guide me. So I went from Vienna till Bratislava, about 80 km(the closest capitals in the world). It was a bit harsh because there were so MANY trucks going to Slovakia, and I was just praying not to be crushed by a 10 ton giant, lol. I hadn't seen so many trucks in my life. Anyways, got to Bratislava, beautiful city! I had a coffee and an icecream in the downtown. I was there for like 2 hours, and then went back, but instead of going back the same way I came, I went north, to see a bit of Slovakia and avoid those main roads full of "tanks"(hahah). I got a bit lost, since there were no indications of wich direction to take towards Austria. People would barely speak English... Anyways, managed to cross a small river on a ferry(the guys didn't charge me! :) ) and I was back in Austrian soil. Then I pedaled all the way to Vienna.
At home I realised I pedalled 250km more than expected, ups. It wasn't thaaat hard, as there were no hills.

It was a one-day journey full of emotion, sweat and a big tan on my arms and head, but it was all worth it! I discovered to overcome any fears and to just keep going, although I didn't have a clue where I was at some point! It was epic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like learning new and useful things.
"The more you know, the bigger you are."

I can teach English, Spanish, Portuguese and Lithuanian perfectly. I speak those 4 languages fluently. My French has becoming weaker, since I don't really use it, but I can stillhave a conversation :) .

Learning more languages is something I really want to do, since I am very sociable and I want to travel to more and more countries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with hosts my knowledge of these languages, I can help repairing broken stuff or building something needed. I like cooking!
