ABOUT ME

I love talking and meeting new people. I can't think of anything better than sitting down with friends talking and laughing all night long. I am currently at Durham University studying Maths and Russian.

I'm really relaxed, open minded and just want to enjoy life. I don't take anything too seriously!!

I'm a bit of a geek and like learning new things all the time, be that from German to Rubix Cubes to card tricks... anything! I love learning all those quriky random things.

I'm (usually) an early riser. Most days I wake up at 6, even on weekends. I usually read for an hour or so then shower, have breakfast and see what the day has in store. I find that I am so much more productive when I wake up early and just have more fun during the day. But obviously if I've been out the night before and go to sleep at 3am, I'm not going to be waking up at 6.

PHILOSOPHY

I think Nike sum it up the best: Just do it.

If I want to learn something or travel somewhere then I do. I don't wait around for the future. What's wrong with right now? At the moment I want to meet new people and have a great time in Germany so that´s what I'm doing.

Don't take anything too seriously. Life is to be enjoyed, so relax, take your time and have fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been to a few couchsurfing meetings whilst I was in Berlin in August 2014. I tried to find a host but unfortunately they were all busy! The meet ups were fantastic and I made loads of new friends. So I'm definitely going to attend more of them and also look to host and surf when I have the time.

Interests

I like drama and theatre. I always want to go and see more shows! Especially improvisational comedy, that's definitely my favorite thing to watch and also act in because there are no boundaries and anything can happen.

At the moment I'm in to language learning. German is the language of choice now as I did it in secondary school and really want to be fluent! In a few weeks I´m going to start learning Italian and so any help with that would be awesome! I want really want to learn more languages from around the world and happy to learn any little snippets from any langauge! The more the merrier.

Travel! This year I've been to Amsterdam, China and of course Germany. It has made me want to travel all around the world and I will definitely be traveling more!

I'm quite sporty and run almost every day but my favorite sport (if you can call it a sport) is chess. I used to be quite good but haven't played a lot recently but am always up for a game if there is a board and someone willing to play against me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise I like fast stuff, indie rock or rap mainly. Big fan of the Arctic Monkeys, Eminem and The Strokes to name a few. I want to listen to more German music. I've listened to Cro and really like him and also Die Prinzen. I was surpised how much I like them! Recently I've been listening to Ed Sheeran's new album "X", it's great.

I love singing too! I don't think I have a very good voice but whatever. Usually I sing most I'm dancing in clubs and no one can hear me and I can't even hear myself! But I'm always up for a sing song.
There are so many books to choose from that I like! At the moment I´m reading "The Silkworm" by Robert Gailbraith which is fantastic and just finished the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson. Crime novels are what I want to read at the moment. But my favorite book is actually a German book (though unfortunately I didn´t read it in German) called "Im Westen nichts neues" by Erich Maria Remarque. It´s about life in the trenches in WWI and has it all: action, love, happiness, sadness. It´s awesome! Finally of course there is Harry Potter which is just an awesome series.

For movies and TV I've got to say Breaking Bad is my favorite TV show of all time. If you've not watched it then you should. Its unbelievably good!!! Wow.
Movies is tricky because I like pretty much all types of movie. Comedies are always good like 22 Jump Street or Wir Sind Die Neuen. But I do like a good thriller or action movie too. Bright Young Things is probably my favorite film. It's about the young, rich people who party all the time in 1930s and 1940s England. A good mix of the two with comedy and some action.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It has to be the great wall of china. I went there in May 2014 and it's the most amazing thing I've ever seen! I couldn't believe I was actually there, I felt like I was in a dream, it was so surreal. The scenery was beautiful, the weather was perfect (not a cloud in the sky) and there weren't many tourists so moving around was easy. Everyone should visit it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an amateur card magician and (even though it's technically against the magicians code;)) would happily pass on my knowledge of magic.

I also like playing chess and doing drama so could also pass on some of that. Maybe do some Shakespeare?

I know this may be a bit boring but I have tutored people before in Maths, so could help anyone stuck in a rut with their maths skills. Or help to teach English.
