Overview
About Me
I quit my job in the U.S. to travel. I spent 1 year in Japan (Teaching English) so that I could stay there longer. I then traveled to Hong Kong (1 week) and the Philippines (30 days). I'm now in Vietnam. I hope to travel for the next 6 months to a year.
I have actually never stayed with anyone (member since 2013) but I met a traveler in the Philippines who swore by this site and that he'd been traveling for 2 years. So I thought I'd give it a try.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am hoping to meet local people who can show me around, possibly offer a place to stay, share their stories/travels.
Interests
I love to meet new people. I love exchanging stories. I write as a hobby. I like to go hike, most things that give a little adrenaline. I enjoy dancing when the mood suits me. I like to cook and to try new food.

Books: Stranger in a Strange Land. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Starship Trooper, Enders Game (the whole series), Game of Thrones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was the first foreigner to participate in the Buddhist fire festival in Komono, Japan. It was intense and fun and I have the scars to prove it. I was interviewed by the local papers and television stations when I was finished.
