ABOUT ME

I am a Cuban Jewish attorney who is passionate about politics, the environment, and social justice. I love music, art, and poetry. I enjoy yoga, swimming, running, and an assortment of outdoor activities like hiking, snorkeling and scuba diving, fishing, and camping. I have been to Burning Man nine times and participate in the larger global Burning Man culture and community. I have also been long involved in theater as an actor and director. I have traveled to Europe, Canada and Mexico, the Caribbean, South America, Asia, the Middle East and Australia. I identify as bisexual and am happy to meet and offer a safe space for other LGBTQ+ couch surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have hosted two people when I lived in Philadelphia, and surfed in Hawaii on the Big Island. I have also begun to host people in Miami. All of my experiences have been great. I enjoyed meeting new people and feeling like part of a community.

Some of my interests include: Politics, media and blogging; outdoor activities including hiking, rock climbing, skiing, water skiing, fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling, surfing, biking, and world exploring; yoga, running and spinning; literature, poetry, theater, and the arts; religion and philosophy; reading, writing, and social media.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't really like the idea of "favorites." I am a great lover of books, movies and music of many types. I enjoy music festivals and live music, and genres ranging from rock & roll to electronica. I like to vary my reading, but generally go for novels and history books. I always try to see all the movies nominated for Best Picture every year and enjoy a wide variety of movies old and new.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been blessed to have seen many incredible things in my short life. One particularly rewarding experience was seeing silverswords in bloom in the Haleakala crater on Maui. These endangered plants, which only grow in the volcanic craters of Hawaii, bloom once every 65 years and then die. I was lucky enough to go on a hike at a time when not just one, but several of these special plants were in full bloom. It was a really special moment that I will never forget.
