I really enjoy meeting new people. I am a simple-liver. I am kind and polite, and a creative and soulful dude. I am always singing, thinking of music, or drumming on something :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to meet new people and surf while I am living in NZ. I live in an intentional community here, so I cannot host at the moment, but when I am back in The States, I will gladly host!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None at this point, but ready to begin.

Interests

I love to play music and make art. I play the drums, sing, write music, make instruments, paint, draw, and I love to tinker around and build things. I like to work outside in the garden or the compost pile. I enjoy being active, playing sports, tramping, biking, jogging, and throwing around the frisbee.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love soulful music. I grew up with a father who loved to play James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Tower of Power, Average White Band…..etc. I love funk and soul music.
I also love rock The Beatles and all those wacky British Invasion groups from the 60's.
Currently I am diggin' jazz and hip hop fusion. There are some great musicians bringing this to life right now.

Movie - Forest Gump - my favourite of all.
I really enjoy reading, but have no favourite books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Coming to Kaikoura, New Zealand in 2010 changed my life's course. The natural beauty is incredible, but the people is where the heart is.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach/Share - creativity, kindness, patience, soulfulness, the importance of art in society.

Learn - I love to learn the stories of others. People are fascinatingly complex. Who knows maybe I will even ask if I can paint a portrait of you?
