Overview
About Me
Living in Chicago since 2011 - I'm conversational in Spanish, since studying abroad for a year in Paraguay in high school. I used to call myself fluent, but that might not be entirely truthful anymore. Now I just try my best. My personality is very relaxed and low key, and I enjoy meeting new people, exploring new places, and trying new things. I currently work as a photographer at University of Illinois Chicago, and take pictures of weddings as well. I'm an avid runner and ran my first full marathon in Detroit in October, 2022. I enjoy bicycling to work nearly every day, cooking, and helping neighbors in our community garden near our apartment in Chicago.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I surfed one night in Switzerland in 2013, and have hosted a few travelers since then, mostly back in college. I'm very appreciative of people opening their homes and spending their limited time with travelers. I think meeting local people is an amazing way to learn about the culture of a place as opposed to staying in hotels and airbnbs all of the time.
