Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to couchsurfing. I recently stayed with a friend of a friend, who gushed so convincingly about couchsurfing that I'm giving it a shot.

Interests

I like to read books and drink craft beers in pubs. I read the news constantly. Cycling and hiking are my two favourite ways to get my blood pumping outdoors. I adore pleasant encounters with strangers.

Music, Movies, and Books

The book I recommend most often to friends is "Einstein's Dreams" by Alan Lightman. It's thoughtful, poetic, and very short.

My favourite film is the Big Lebowski.

I am really into heavy metal, which frequently surprizes people.

A while ago a friend of mine told me something that was as striking as it was hilarious. He told me, "You have such a wonky range of interests--you can talk extensively about James Joyce, but you also know a lot about weird Norwegian satanic metal music".
