I found a staple in my cheese burger one time. The restaurant made me another cheese burger for free. But, I'm veg now, so I don't eat cheese burgers.

If you really want to be polite, first say, "Excusez-moi de vous déranger."
Obnoxiously blurting out to a stranger, "Hey, do you speak english?" makes even other Americans want to say "non."
