About Me

Hello! I'm originally from the beautiful Pacific Northwest region of the US but recently moved to Washington, DC. I've been traveling and using Couchsurfing since 2012 when I embarked on my first backpacking trip abroad. Since then I've had the travel bug and seen many beautiful places and met so many amazing people. I love meeting friends and new people out for drinks and conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love engaging in the Couchsurfing community because most people here have international perspectives that I find both inspiring and comforting. In addition, I both love showing travelers all my favorite parts of my city and, when surfing, hosts can give me such a better and more authentic sense of the place I'm visiting that I can't access alone or from a hostel.

Interests

Some interests include history, politics, architecture, German language, alternative/indie music, Twin Peaks, cheeky shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and good beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
Indie/Alternative/Electronic, Rock. The Drums, Death Cab for Cutie, Phantogram, Portugal the Man, Starfucker, Metronomy, Chastity Belt, Lana Del Ray, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Incubus are some of my favorites.

Movies
I often like to watch foreign films and classic films. I like slower films that are detailed, have a lot of character development, and make you think or disturb you a little. Stranger by the Lake, Donnie Darko, and the old Twilight Zone episodes are some that I enjoy.

Books
I'm a big non-fiction fan, especially topics regarding history and politics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After I graduated High School in 2012 I traveled through Eastern Europe by myself starting in Berlin and ending in Turkey and Greece. I saw so many beautiful things and met so many interesting people.
Fried Cheese in Prague
Turkish Bath in Budapest
Smoking Hookah in Istanbul

Teach, Learn, Share
