About Me

CURRENT MISSION

*** www.asiaandback.com ***

ABOUT ME

I am creative and resourceful, I love up-cycling and trying to live a minimalist lifestyle but fail constantly, I buy stuff I don't need and sometimes just love cool things and struggle to justify the expense. I tell stories and always look for meaning, I am something of a pacifist and think benefit of the doubt is a great thing, as is playing devils advocate.

PHILOSOPHY

Death is inevitable, life is now and tomorrow, don't live for the day, live for the lessons learned yesterday, the joy of today and possibilities of the tomorrow

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love hosting clean, kind and interesting people. Be warned I'm conservative with electricity and water waste.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Loving it so far, have met amazing people!! Host mostly, need to surf more

Interests

I am a nurse, I recently traveled by motorcycle on my own from LA to Rhode Island. I love music, art, travel, chat, picking peoples brains, weird things, I love Africa, I pretty much love America now too. I love trees but I'm not a tree hugger. I love a good cold beer and a bit of amateur freelance anthropology (learning about other cultures, traditions, language/slang). I love food more than life itself. I have a great family!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love documentaries, I like good music ONLY.
I read books on modern philosophy and meaning. I paint a little and I am involved with international art and such (long story)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I briefly worked on a cheetah farm, it was terrifying but empowering.

I built my own bed, it's called 'The Floating Palace of Love' (joke, but it does light up from underneath)

Flipped an eight man dinghy on Grade 5 rapids on the Zambezi River; bruised hip. #Survivor

Teach, Learn, Share

In recent travels in Africa I learned the tradition of Ubuntu. I recommend you just look it up on the old interweb. Ubuntu is a sense of being connected, a cooperation, a community, a core sense of humanity towards eachother and all; CARING AND SHARING.

Close observations on culture and society can help you live a better life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll help you clean/tidy/cook/chat
