About Me

Excited to start couch surfing and to meet new people!

I'm a travelling student, doing my undergraduate degree in English studies, and I work part time during school as a bartender and an actor.

I aspire to be a professional in the art community someday (whatever that may be), and hope to create new pieces of entertainment and art that will thrill and move audiences around the globe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want the inside scoop on a place I've never been, and I think the best way to do that is meeting someone local! I haven't been many places internationally, and it would be awesome to experience other places with people who are like minded and as open as I am. Just sharing a whole new place with a potential new friend is exciting.

Interests

I love reading and writing, and writing about reading! My schooling allows me access to classic literature, and I enjoy reading plays as well as Fantasy and Science-Fiction. I write mostly plays and other short forms, but would really like to try my hand at a novel. It would be great to find inspiration here!

I spend a lot of time outside fishing, downhill mountain biking, paintballing and playing sports in the summer, and skiing and dog-sledding in the winter.

Beer is a favourite hobby; I brew my own, and enjoy sampling local and craft brews. I love video game, board games, card games...pretty much anything associated with gaming! Most of my time is spent video gaming though. I'm also a huge Batman fan - he is by far the best superhero and forever will be! :)

I also want to travel more - there are so many cool things to see, I want to experience them all.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been listening to lots of blues, jazz, and hard rock lately. Late 60's and early 70's is where it's at, and musical theatre has been making it back into my playlist. I've been playing so much music in the past few months that my song list is very varied! Pink Floyd, to The Black Keys, to Biggie, to Bach. :P

I've been hitting the classics pretty hard lately when it comes to books via school, but usually I gravitate to Fantasy or Science-Fiction, like I said. "The Wheel of Time" series, the LOTR trilogy, and "The Road" are probably my favourite books. I read a lot of graphic novels as well, a lot of them Batman related.

I love film, so I watch a ton a movies. Star Wars, LOTR, and The Wall get watched a lot, but I'll honestly watch anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was attacked by a bear, charged by a moose, and stalked by a cougar - and lived to tell the tale (with a scar or two).

Teach, Learn, Share

The whole point of travelling for me is to embody that ideal - I want to drink in as much information as I can, meet as many people as possible, and share experiences in a profound cultural exchange. I want to see how people are like in other parts of the globe, and I want to learn and write about them. Find inspiration for new works.

I have so much to share for others, and a great capacity to learn. I want to open my knowledge to people, and have others impart their knowledge on me - all while having an excellent time!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A great attitude, manners, and demeanour. I'm beyond excited to travel and to share in cultural experiences, and I'm willing to share my own. I'm respectful and tidy, and plan on keeping it that way no matter where I am. I will cook, clean, compose music, write and chat.

Mostly I bring a listening ear, and conversation. :)
