About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working, serving, and writing in Europe

ABOUT ME

I'm a 23 year-old, college-educated American guy from North Florida who wants to learn and serve as much as he can. I'm a writer too, and find that my coolest ideas come from sharing my life with others. As far as living goes, I'm very easygoing and try to find joy in the small things, which also means I find joy in living simply.

PHILOSOPHY

So many folks let their passions die because they aren't willing to take the courageous step into what they deeply yearn to do. If you yearn to write, write, to dance, dance, to work with numbers, work with numbers! In a spiritual sense, I believe that God has given us these gifts, and when we use them fully, and learn from others while doing it, we find not only joy together, but also peace.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Alas, I have no couch available! However, a joy of my life is connecting people, and I hope that, through my experience with CouchSurfing, that I can both share in hosts' lives, as well as connect surfers and hosts together, to improve everybody's CouchSurfing experience, and traveling experience, for the better.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to CouchSurfing, but I have several friends who serve as hosts, and they love it.

Interests

Writing & literature, sports & frisbee, animals & cows, cooking & fresh produce, dialogue & simple joys, friends & loved ones, music & film, and oh, the Jesus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was doing reforestation in Guatemala, a gigantic cow lumbered down the hill to watch us work, as we planted trees in the open slope. When its farmer came to get it, it tried to evade him as much as it could (for being as big as it was), but failed, and was tied up to a tree at the top of the hill. Once the farmer was out of view, the cow shrugged off the knot and came back to, anthropomorphically, watch us as we worked. (I took a picture with it as proof!)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a nerd and love history, whether that's the history of my country or esoteric history about film. Also, I'm game for learning any skill I don't already have, from milking cows to a better way to hook up electrical sockets. There's always something new to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Greece, Guatemala, Turkey, United Kingdom
