About Me

I'm finishing my undergraduate degree at UW-Madison this December (2017), and following that, will be traveling quite a few places between January and June of 2018: Asheville, New Orleans, Austin, Honolulu, Nashville, Boston, and Manila.

I'm from the DC area (301!!!) and travel back there relatively often.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm hoping to meet new people through hosting in the next few months, and perhaps I will look for hosts elsewhere at some point on my upcoming travels.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm from the US but my lola's (grandma's) family is from the Philippines. So when I was a younger student at UW-Madison, I had to choose a foreign language to take.... at the same time that I was making this choice, I traveled to the Philippines for the first time. I was struck by the beauty of the many languages I was fortunate to hear spoken. My Visayan family speaks Hiligaynon, but I opted to take the one Philippine language offered at UW-Madison when I returned, Tagalog. My Tagalog is only okay, but I love speaking and practicing. If you're from the Philippines, you're always welcome here.
