i've spent the past few years sometimes living in laramie, wyoming (my hometown) and sometimes living in kunming, china. i'm finishing up my master's thesis now -about environmental activism in china.
i'm currently doing an internship in China with a biodiversity conservation organization called Rare.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i signed up a while ago for couchsurfing but have yet to formally participate. i have, however, hung around friend's houses while they hosted. i've met some really interesting people this way.
as soon as i live somewhere at least semi-permanently and with a decent couch, i'm going to start hosting myself.

lately, i've started to do some experimental cooking in china. i'm trying to learn how to use all the delicious veggies here that we don't have in the US.
i'm applying for PhD programs in anthropology for fall 2010. it might sound silly but i want to study tofu. in china there are over one thousand varieties of tofu, not just the watery stuff we get in the US. there are a few varieties that i think would do well in the US. thus, i'm thinking about eventually starting a tofu factory/restaurant in the states that is based on ideals of health, environment, local food economy, etc.
