About Me

ABOUT ME

UPDATE: I WILL BE OUT OF TOWN FROM 1/20-1/23 AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOST THOSE DATES!

I'm originally a small town guy from southern Appalachia (the region of the US famous for bluegrass, whiskey, and amazing food) that has always had a fascination for the wider world. I didn't have the opportunity to leave the country until college and I've been hitting the road ever since! After packing my life up and moving across the country to work in the San Francisco Bay Area, and then again packing my life up and backpacking from Mexico to South Korea, I have finally settled down (for the the time being) in Washington D.C. I'm looking forward to hosting people in our nation's capital from all walks of life after so many generous people opened their homes to me and my girlfriend during our travels!

PHILOSOPHY

Do what makes you happiest in life, rather than what others want for you to do

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Having recently arrived in the DC area, I'm looking to host fellow travelers at my apartment, as well as becoming involved with the DC area couchsurfing community

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted quite a bit when I lived in San Francisco and couchsurfed in countries all around the world. Now that I'm finally moved to the DC area, I'm looking to once again get back into hosting.

Interests

Travel, art, history (mainly ancient stuff; my girlfriend knows enough contemporary for the both of us), cooking, eating in new restaurant or trying new food, painting, anything science-related, movies, philosophy, international politics, hiking, and scuba diving
