Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Moving to the state of Washington! Looking for sustainable and organic farming internships. Stoked to experience the beauty of the great pacific northwest!
ABOUT US
We are newly weds traveling the country out of our 'Bad Astro' that we converted in order to travel, live out of, and camp! We play bluegrass/folk music together and love any opportunity to share music! We are passionate about meeting new people, volunteering our time, enjoying and playing in the great outdoors (hiking, camping, sailing, skiing, frisbee, biking, etc.) We are an easygoing, non-drinking, non-smoking couple who still knows how to let loose!
PHILOSOPHY
As a couple, our philosophy on life is all about trying new things, being open to life's many possibilities, and living intentionally and simply. We love creating community, being of service, and making the world small by creating connections with the many awesome people out there we have yet to meet who will enrich our lives!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are traveling to our new home in the state of Washington from Kansas and looking for people to connect with as we travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We hosted some CouchSurfers while we were living in Key West, FL. We are excited to have a home again so we can host CSers in WA.
Interests
We are a traveling folk duo that goes by the name Kissed By A Gypsy. Our blog is www.kissedbyagypsy.com. Adam plays guitar, mandolin, banjo, uke, and harp. Maggie plays guitar, uke, and sings like an angel.
Other than music we love playing cards, board games (we travel with Settlers of Catan), cooking, hiking, skiing (we went for the first time in CO and it was a blast!!), learning about farming and bee keeping. Adam also loves learning languages and is always down to learn/teach a thing or two.

Music, Movies, and Books
You've probably already gotten the hint from scanning our profile thus far that we love bluegrass and folk music because thats what we live to do with each other and friends. Some of our favorite artists to name a few are: Mandolin Orange, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, Elephant Revival, Nickel Creek, The Steel Wheels, The Avett Brothers, The Dubliners, Flogging Molly, Xavier Rudd, Medicine for the People, Brett Dennon, Ingrid Michelson, Brown Bird, Old Crow Medicine Show....just to name a few:)
We love books and swapping books with friends. Some of Adam's favorites are: Vagabonding, The Alchemist, Tribes, Dharma Bums, Harry Potter, Dragon Drums (or anything in the Dragonriders of Pern series). Some of Maggie's favorites are: Wild, God loves laughter, Eat Pray Love, anything by Wendell Berry.
As a couple we like all kinds of movies, except for scary ones we tend to like unspirational or uplifting movies. We especially love watching Documentaries together.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Adam decided to travel to Vietnam just because he fell in love with Pho, and wanted to eat the original. It turned into one of the greatest experiences of his life and the memories will be there forever.
Maggie went on a trip to Mexico in college and had an amazing experience staying with locals in Cuernavca learning about social justice and trade issues between the US and Mexico.
