CURRENT MISSION
To create memories and stories as often as possible.
ABOUT ME
Personality wise, I'm very laid back and don't worry about much. When people come over, I prefer them to make themselves completely, ridiculously at home instead of being overly formal with a lot of boundaries, but that's just me.
Like most people on this site, I presume, I tend to believe in the good nature of people. Life is miserable if you're always expecting the worst.
I love to learn and, towards that end, enjoy reading academic journals, watching TED Talks, reading articles posted in Reddit, talking to strangers, and sifting through Khan Academy videos. I also enjoy traveling when I get the chance, though I prefer exotic, different places over Western touristy ones. I would still enjoy both, however. :)
I try to keep somewhat active via mountain-biking, backpacking, racquetball, tennis, and swimming, though I don't do as much as I'd like. I have a deep passion for exotic cars and have owned some amazing vehicles, taking them to the track whenever I can. The same goes for F1 racing. Huge fan.
I also loooove my job. I was in the Navy for 9 years and am now working for Uncle Sam as a civilian.
PHILOSOPHY
I often picture myself in the future as an old man in a rocking chair, staring off my back porch, thinking about my life before then. In that vein, I try to live my life in a way that won't have that old man regretting any missed opportunities.
Interests
Sports cars, international relations, science, philosophy, reading, writing.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm on an iPad and it's tough to type a lot, but I will say I'm not a huge music nut. I listen to it constantly and love to sing but I'm not a huge fan of anything or anyone, in that regard. Whatever I'm in the mood for is great. :) As far as books and movies...that's too complex to answer here I feel. Ask me in person if you'd like.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing thing would be that I've driven from Florida to Alaska in the winter. It was somewhat uneventful until I got to Chilkat Pass in Canada and hit a real bad blizzard. Long story. I also had to change my first flat tire on that trip in -60F degree weather.
Countries I’ve Visited
Afghanistan, Bahamas, Mexico
Countries I’ve Lived In
Japan, United States
