About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Just finished up a summer of working in the boat yard in Port Townsend, WA . Had to say goodbye to the Island Caper before it splashed. Now I’m driving around til my January ski trip to Japan. Beyond stoked for that. Trying to make friends all over the world. You’d be surprised how often old friends pop up.
ABOUT ME
Hey I’m Adam, from Medford MA. Been to a lot of places internationally and in the USA and boy, isn’t it swell! This world, I tell you!
Most recently, spent the summer working on a soon-to-be dinner cruise ship in WA, before that it was teaching 7th grade math in Denver. Colorado College alum. Still never been to Canada. Trying to live as many experiences as I can until I settle down to teach full time.
I’m optimistic and laid back so I don’t mind a sleeping pad on a living room floor or a cabin with an outdoor kitchen and a composting toilet(!) love sharing stories and getting wound up in the philosophy of anything.
I am truly grateful for the kindness of strangers. It transcends borders and languages and it never seems to fail. In my experience you get what you put out into this wide world.
PHILOSOPHY
positivity and good conversations

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Haven’t done it yet. But all my friends that have done it tell me stories of gracious hosts and cultures and subcultures colliding and the odd sports car joyride.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have an ever-growing list of music, movies, and book recommendations that I would love to add to.
I tend toward rock music but anything new, weird, or passionate. If it gets you excited I will add it to my list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacked for four months in Patagonia on a “gap yeah” after high school
Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to help with any project you are working on or provide any child care needed. I have worked in schools in Colorado for three years and at Camp Hazen YMCA for five years before that. Minor construction experience of a boat-y nature.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories, cooking, and a helping hand. Teach a little guitar/7th grade math/team building exercises (yes they’re as dorky as you remember, you just have to buy into them :)
I’m real easygoing and I try always to help carry the load, never to be a burden.
