About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Ive been lucky enough to be welcomed by so many people in my life wherever I have visited and it has always been in my nature to be welcoming and caring to others, so this feels like a natural progression. I have had many people stay with me before I knew about Couchsurfing and it wasn't until my friend Megan Erspamer (a couch surfing pro - search for her :)) introduced me to it when i told her i was coming to America to travel for 3 months. I first met Megan in Australia where i stayed in her apartment whilst she was studying. A year or two later i returned the favour when Megan traveled across Europe.

Interests

If it is active, creative or challenging then I love it.

I have been into bikes all my life. I currently own three. A road bike, XC bike for trails and my favourite is my trials bike, which is for tricks and stunts (hard to explain)

i also love, snowboarding, hiking, bouldering and football.

I love photography and draw occasionally too. My trip across America and Canada is heavily focused on all of the above...apart from football :p

Outside of those, i party a lot and am out most nights with friends. I love my own time but meeting people and laughing is key.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is a huge part of my life. I have it on almost constantly. My taste spans far and wide and i usually take it song by song. If I had to say what i listened to most then it would be more singer/songwriter acoustic stuff, but hey take me to a filthy drum n bass rave any day!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One?....Can I do three?!...I'm doing three.

1) In Auatralia I had the privilege of working and living on a working/tourist cattle ranch. I was there for 6 weeks and had so many new experiences i look back now and smile every time. Among many I learnt to saddle and ride horses, fire guns, make beer, ride quad bikes, lasso goats, butcher a goat (for the guests who stayed with us), making bullets, creek swimming, lumber jacking......sounds made up I know but it was an incredible part of my life and one i am so thankful for. If you go to Australia visit Kroombit park on Lochenbar cattle station.

2) I lived in London for 16 months and just came back to plan my next adventure across America and Canada (commencing March 2015!) London is an unbelievable city...well its more of a world. I initially took a sales office job...Wow BORING! Then out of the blue (Facebook finally delivered something useful) I came across a managers job for a street food company called Anna Mae's mac n cheese....to cut a long story short i worked the whole summer at events and festivals across England, working hard and partying harder. The highlight had to be the world famous Glastonbury! It made me realise that taking risks and leaving your comfort zone is when the best times happen. Don't be afraid to leave routine, just because it feels safe doesn't mean it is.

3) Auatralia again, 6 weeks at Spot-X surf camp. surfing twice a day for 6 weeks in paradise with awesome like minded people.....Lets just leave it there :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

The beauty of living in Solihull is the options it gives. We are surrounded by gorgeous countryside and history (30 minutes from William Shakespeares house in Stratford-upon-avon) I am also 30 minutes from the second largest city in England, Birmingham. A train goes directly from Solihull to central London in 1hr 40 minutes, so a day trip there is very easy. We are in the middle of England so it is a great stop that a lot of people do between London and Scotland. Nightlife is great, restaurants aplenty, and i have a great circle of friends who are all very welcoming and hospitable.
