ABOUT ME

Here are some things that we really like: music, music festivals, tomatoes, summertime, drinking, Mariokart, string lights, cooking, cleaning, repeat patterns, beer, board games, and plants.

Here are some things that we do not like: wintertime, rudeness, smugness, people who are different from me in any way (just kidding!), being bored.

Here are some adjectives that (some would say) describe us: laid-back, lazy, very tall/very short, optimistic, creative.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not much of a philosopher, but I'm pretty happy with my values in life. I don't see much of a need to get upset, angry, or stressed about things. Our lives are too short to waste time not being happy.

We surfed throughout our cross-country road trip in 2011 and were lucky enough to meet some amazing new friends through CS.

Interests

We really love going to music festivals, traveling, meeting new people!

Some of our more everyday interests include cooking, catching up on some of our favorite TV shows, decorating our perpetual holiday tree (which is really more of Austin's job), going out for drinks with friends, visiting botanical gardens, hiking, being outside when it's warm.

Music, Movies, and Books

Elyza really likes scary movies. Austin is too much of a wuss.

Music, we like all kinds of rock, jazz, bluegrass, jammy stuff, and the occasional electronic band. Some of our favorite bands include: Radiohead, Guster, Muse, Phish, Beck, The Decemberists, Pixies, Sigur Ros, Cake, STS9, Weezer, Umphrey's McGee, Gogol Bordello, Gov't Mule, Galactic...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In summer of 2011, we went on a three month cross country road trip that introduced us to our first CS hosts, many new friends, killer food, and some amazing experiences. We also learned that we could survive in a car with each other without killing each other (barely).

Teach, Learn, Share

Austin is really good at writing computer code and modular origami. Elyza excels in dressing fabulously and she is also getting into hula hooping and pole dancing. We both are getting pretty handy in the kitchen... recently we've been into making home made pizza.
