I'm a 29-year old on the move to Albuquerque for my career. It'll be hard to adjust from rainy Washington state to dry New Mexico but I'm looking forward to the opportunity.

I'm a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who served in Guatemala from 2011 to 2013.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking forward to hosting couchsurfers once I get settled in and get a couch. For the time being, though, I'm surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couchsurfed with several people in Guatemala but have yet to host anyone in my house for reasons mentioned above.

Music, Movies, and Books

BOOKS
The pendulum swings between reading novels and news articles. I'm currently reading more articles than novels, but when I do read novels I like to read books that deal with existentialism (e.g. sci-fi, fantasy, nonfiction). Harry Potter, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Siddhartha, anything by Carl Sagan or Joseph Campbell.

MOVIES
I don't watch many movies, but I prefer dramas and comedies over other genres. My favorite movie is American Beauty.

MUSIC
Incubus, Guster, Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Foo Fighters, Vetusta Morla. Alternative rock mostly but I like a little bit of everything with the exception of contemporary country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed Santa María, a volcano in Guatemala (3772m, 12,375ft).
Lived in the Olympic Peninsula.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think there's much I can teach, but I share stories from my time in the Peace Corps in Guatemala.
