About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Bring focus to my many passions!
ABOUT ME
I decided last year I wanted to be a travel blogger that wrote about volunteer and literary travel. I'm currently volunteering at a Camphill community in rural New York. I live and work with an amazing group of people, many of whom are developmentally disabled.
The blog I run focuses on my many passions. I have a fascination with culture- especially underground/unnoticed and indie culture.
Random info: I love writing, reading, cooking, watching movies and TV. I'm a vegetarian. I have three pen pals. In the past four years I've lived in four states.
PHILOSOPHY
I always try to see the sunnier side of things and not stress too much because it's not like I'll make it out of this life alive.
Fable that goes with it: There were two farmhands who were asked to shovel out the pony stables. The stables were filled to the brim with poop. When the stable master looked he saw one shoveling at the pace of a snail.
He asked, "Why do you shovel so slow?"
"There's so much shit, I'll never get all of it out," the farmhand replied.
The stable master nodded and went to check on the other one. Now the other farmhand was shoveling as fast and as much as she could. The stable master was surprised to see such vigor to shovel out horse poop.
"Why do you go so fast?" the stable master asked.
"Well with all this poop," she replied,"there's got to be a pony in here some where."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now it's by surfing on couches, but when I settle down I'd like to have a couch (or air mattress) for people to surf on.
I want to connect with like-minded (and not like-minded) individuals to expand my view of the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done a lot of couchsurfing on family and friend couches, especially during my move to Los Angeles in 2008.
