About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be Happy, live free, learn, educate

ABOUT ME

I am an educator first and foremost. After my family, my main mission in life is to illuminate the ignorance in the world one classroom at a time.

I´m super close to receiving my Master´s degree in Teaching. I decided to get a degree from a foreign university so that I could learn more about myself and who am I- also because I love the spanish way of life.

In August, I have plans to start an MBA program and to go down to Argentina to teach mathematics or english.

If I wasn´t so passionate about education, than I would spend my days going from country to country learning about cultures and lifestyles. My ambition is to be the head of the department of education.

I am one of those cool, laid back people that doesn´t get bothered easily. I typically just go with the flow and let the happiness wind take me wherever it decides to blow.

I thrive on intellectual conversations, good books, beautiful scenery, delicious food, learning, and pretty flowers.

PHILOSOPHY

No regrets. I want leave this world saying that I attempted to do everything that I wanted to do. I´m a big believer in the road that you walk is way more important than the goal at the end of the journey.

I would choose an assured poor and happy life over world riches all day, everyday.

Treat others as you want to be treated.

True honesty is way better than small. white lies because the world can never agree on what constitutes a small, white lie. Better to tell the truth all of the time and avoid the confusion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´ve done a bit of surfing in the United States and Spain. Both have been wonderful experiences in which I was able to meet some great people.

I´ve also host some great people that showed me the wonders of their way of living.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couchsurfing experience was a great one. I went to St. Louis, MO and had a fabulous time. My hosts were exceptional people that went out of there way to make me feel comfortable.

My second couchsurfing hosts were even more amazing. They went above and beyond to make me experience a fantastic one.

I´ve also hosted a few couchsurfers and it´s an awesome experience. Being able to provide help for people while learning just makes me giddy inside.

Interests

POOL- I spent most of my 20s living in a pool hall. I fell in love with the game. I´ve only competed in the amateur level but I reached the highest level that you can get without taking the next step to semi-professional.
READING- I devour books. My babysitter was the library when I was young and I have never stopped reading. I´m that guy that you have to call 2 or 3 times to get my attention because the book is so good.
CHESS- I love me some chess. Been playing since I was young and the mental stimulation of it is astonishing.
DANCING- I´ve actually always hated dancing until I came to spain and found out what life was like with non-dancable music. Now I´m ready to learn anything.
PEOPLE- people are so interesting. Their personal philosophies, their dreams, we all live in the same world and yet interpret things so differently. I love learning about why people interpret the way they do.

Music, Movies, and Books

Lion King- favorite movie...followed by Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan- favorite books
The Redwall series by Brian Jacques
Fantasy Fiction in general....

Music...I just need something that I can dance to... my only requirement..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkeling in Jamaica was a fascinating experience. The beauty and danger of it was exhilarating.

While doing that I also almost killed myself. I know that they teach you when you are young that distances under water are easily misjudged. I almost misjudged incorrectly and it would have cost me everything.

Future note to others..don´t try to touch the bottom of the sea.....lol

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy meeting people that are open-minded about the world. I am a very curious person and I question everything around me. I like meeting like-minded people so we can explore the world from our different experiences and try to make sense of it.
