About Me
Greetings, I'm Ade, a writer/poet, author of four books, and a spoken word artist. I've also got this rapping thing on the side – it's my "rhyme-time" job where I clock in with punchlines.
I'm all about having a blast and diving deep into conversations. I can talk about anythingggggg – from the existential crisis of a paperclip to the secret lives of Juba’s street cats. My mantra? My Network is my Networth, so if you've got tales to tell, we're about to increase your storytelling stock.
Be prepared for sudden poetry attacks; my verses are like a surprise party for your ears. My smile? It's a contagious condition; you might need humor as your cure.
Professionally, I'm an Expressive Arts Therapist, or as I like to call it, "Therap-rapping" – healing hearts one rhyme at a time. I've journeyed through nearly every village in my country, gathering stories like a literary packrat, spreading mindfulness, and spreading love.
So, if you're keen on a journey where every story has a twist, every laugh has a lesson, and every rhyme has a reason, let's connect. I promise, it'll be like attending "Tale University" – where the curriculum is laughter, and the graduation is enlightenment!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've always felt that the world is full of kindred spirits, each with their own unique melody, and I believe you could be one of those harmonious notes in my life's symphony. So, I'm here on Couchsurfing, not just looking for a place to lay my head, but for a chance to share my poetry, my laughter, and my stories with you. I want to blend our lives' rhythms, to dance to the beat of new cultures, new foods, and new friendships. Let's connect, because I'm eager to see if our stories can rhyme or if our laughs can echo in unison. Maybe you'll find yourself smiling contagiously with me, or perhaps you'll catch the poetry bug from my impromptu recitals. I'm here to make our encounter not just a moment, but a memorable chapter in our life's book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've traveled the River Nile from all Her corners, tracing Her path from Uganda's lush, green embrace to Egypt's ancient, sun-baked sands. In Uganda, I felt the cool, vibrant spray of Murchison Falls, the air thick with the scent of fresh earth and the chorus of a thousand birds. The river's waters here were a vibrant blue, the taste of pure, life-giving energy on my lips. Moving through home, South Sudan, the Nile's scent shifted to a mix of wildflowers and the smoky aroma of village fires, the water's touch warm and embracing against my skin, its sound a gentle lullaby to the communities along its banks. In Sudan, I was mesmerized by the sight of the Nile dividing, the visual spectacle of two rivers merging, one the deep blue of the sky, the other a muddy, earthy brown, their union a symphony of colors, textures, and the crisp, clean smell of fresh water. In Ethiopia, the scent of coffee from nearby farms mixed with the river's freshness, the taste of the Blue Nile's waters slightly sweeter, the air vibrant with the sound of life at the confluence. Finally, in Egypt, I stood in awe where the Nile's journey concludes, the water's taste ancient, almost tangy with history, the air filled with the whisper of sand and the distant call of the muezzin, the visual feast of palm trees and pyramids reflected in the river's calm, clear depths. This journey was not just travel; it was a tapestry of sensory experiences, each moment a thread in the rich, vibrant story of the Nile and me.

What I Can Share with Hosts
When I visit you, I yearn for the rich tapestry of your cultural tales – the epic legends of your local heroes, the vibrant songs that echo your history, and the enchanting myths that paint your landscape with stories. I remember once in Ethiopia, sitting by the Nile, I was captivated by an elder's tale of a mythical bird that guided travelers. That story, shared over tea, felt like a bridge between worlds. I crave similar moments with you, to dive into the spiritual practices that anchor your community, whether it's through the exuberant celebrations of festivals, the solemnity of sacred sites, or the quiet, meditative moments of daily life. I recall the peace I felt at a small shrine in Uganda, where the community's morning chants felt like the heartbeat of the land itself.
Let's trade these stories like treasures, creating a spiritual and cultural mosaic where each piece adds depth, color, and understanding to the beautiful, diverse quilt of our world. I bring with me my own narratives - like the time I performed poetry at a local market in Rwanda, and the crowd's rhythm became part of my verses, or the mindfulness classes I ran in Juba, where laughter and learning intertwined. My stories are ready to blend with yours❤️
